Summary:
TLAP (Tax Legal Assistance Project) Project: LSNJ’s TLAP is a low-income taxpayer clinic provides education, representation and advocacy in federal taxation matters to low income New Jersey residents.
The TLAP project has opportunities for Attorneys, CPA’s, and Enrolled Agents to assist low-income clients who have tax disputes with the IRS. Our work typically includes representing low income clients in Examination Audits, before the US Tax Court, and placing clients in Collection Alternatives (Offers in Compromise, Currently Not Collectible, and Installment Payment Agreements, and in filing amended and/or past due returns for clients who are non compliant. Although preferred, no prior experience with IRS matters is required as LSNJ will provide CLE eligible training.
